MAC Kissable Lipcolour: So Vain

As you all know I am a huge lipgloss junkie! I am also becoming a huge lipstick junkie. So when I went to MAC to pick up my Viva Glam Nicki, I couldn’t help but look around at the other collections. I was checking out the Shop MAC collection and saw the Kissable Lipcolours. These came out last year in a collection (Peacock something) I wanted a few so badly but never got any. So of course I jumped on the opportunity and So Vain was calling my name. I got it for $19, It’s a beautiful dusty pinky coralish color. This shade really helps your smile too, my teeth appear whiter with this on my lips.

The tubes of these are pretty unique they are long and slender unlike the lipglasses which are really short. The formula of these are like nothing I have ever tried. They go on your lips so richly pigmented in one swipe. Yet still moisturizing and fairly shiny. These are not drying or sticky what so ever, they actually will work like a chapstick for me. The color doesn’t settle in my lips or dry up and leave a weird residue behind.

Overall I am pretty much in love with this little lip product! I love everything about it… the color, the slight vanilla scent, the miniaturization. I wish they were part of MACs permanent line. I checked and it is still available on MACs website. I would recommend this product to anyone who thinks this color will work for them. For me it goes great with my skintone and it’s a very wearable color.

Did you buy anything from this collection, or try this product?

MAC Viva Glam Nicki

Ahh Finally the long awaited new Viva glam lipstick is here! For this campaign they created a bright pink lipstick, and have a lip balm. No lipglass this time (bummer!) This lipstick is a satin finish and it looks almost matte on the lips. It has a slight shine to it which helps your lips not look as dry. The pigmentation in this lipstick is no joke!!! It goes on bright pink in one swipe.

I know this will be on my lips a ton this summer, I have already been wearing it a lot and I cant get enough. You should check this out if you are looking for a fun bright pink lipstick. Its the same price as other MAC lipsticks, $14.50. It will be available for one year, so you have until February 2013 to get your hands on this!

This is the only photo I have wearing the lipstick, it is mixed with Viva Glam gaga2 to tone it down a bit.

Do you have this lipstick, or plan to purchase?

Bdellium Tools 957 Precision Kabuki

Ahh Finally my review on the Bdellium tools 957 brush. I have been wanting to do this for awhile, but wanted the brush to get good use and a few washes. I was so excited to get the brush so I didnt want my review to be biased due to excitement! Just a little background... I had planned this to be my next brush purchase... but Bdellium Tools chose me to be their la beaute of the month so I got to choose a brush of my choice to be sent to me.

This brush looked the most comparable to Sigmas F80, which you all know I love! When it arrived I was so excited the brush head was so soft and dense just like sigmas F80. When I wash the brush I dont have any shedding, or staining from the brush on my towel.
I used the brush like I did my F80, and WOW! I didnt actually think there was something better than the F80 but I think this takes the cake! Its much denser and does not absorb as much foundation as the F80 did. The longer handle on the brush also helps you get a different effect when blending your foundation out.

My only downfall is the brush is incredibly hard to wash. I am not sure if this is due to the denseness, or the antibacterial coating they use. I washed it like I normally would, and it just wouldn't come clean. I assumed it was stained but in the morning it had caked up foundation chunks (not a good look). I used olive oil mixed with soap and this did the job.

I would highly suggest this brush if you use liquid foundation. You will be amazed at how airbrushed your face looks. You can buy it from amazon, or here for $14.52.

Thanks again to Bdellium Tools for choosing me as Januarys la beaute, and sending me this amazing brush!

tokidoki 24 Karat Skate Deck Palette

I got this palette at Sephora a few weeks ago. It was a limited edition palette, and is no longer for sale online. However you can still find it in sephora stores on sale like I did. This palette retails for $39 but I was lucky to get it on sale for only $18! You get 12 shades, a good mix of neutrals and colors so you can create many looks with this palette. The shadows are very soft and do crumble a bit, so you have to be careful with fallout. Majority of the shades have great pigmentation, some are a big lacking. The brown (camo) is extremely pigmented and my favorite shade from this set. When I use UD primer potion it really helps these shadows out and they work very well!

Now onto the packaging! The packaging is very cute with the little tokidoki characters on it. I like the little key chain its really cute.  However the palette itself is incredibly cheap. Its a very cheap low quality cardboard and it is not very sturdy. I would definitely not take this palette traveling with you. For me the packaging is not a deciding factor, so I can look over this. I know for some this would stop them from buying.

If this palette were not on sale, I dont think I would have paid $40 for it. I think tokidoki is a bit overpriced, if I were to pay that for a palette I would rather get UrbanDecay. But for $18 I am very happy with my purchase. I will buy more tokidoki products in the future if I see them on sale.

24 Karat, Camo, Granata, Tempesta, Adios Star, Goccia
Sabbia, Duna, Cuore, Ametista, Stella, Unicorno

Have you tried anything from Tokidoki, what is your favorite?

NOTD: Shine of the Times

I finally got my hands on Essies Shine of the times a few weeks ago. I am in love!! I layered it over Orlys Ruby a deep red. I love how it looks over a dark color, I need to try it over a bright and a light color!

I know I went a bit photo crazy. I wanted to catch the polish in lots of different lights. This look reminds me of a dragon or something. I hope you all enjoy this!

Have you gotten a hold of Essies shine of the time? Or do you have any other flakie polishes, what is your favorite way to layer them?

I love my eyeshadows and all my shimmery shades, but one thing I have never owned is glitter! So when Pretty Addictions announced they were coming out with glitters (Shattered Diamonds) I had to jump all over it! I bought four different ones and couldn't wait to play. Today I used Knockout, and Wheres Ken. I used lash adhesive since I dont have glitter glue. I plan to purchase some asap, the lash glue was a big pain.

Please be kind... this was my first time ever using glitter on my lids so its not perfect.

FOTD: Makeup Fail

I created this look, but was not super impressed with it. I like the colors but I feel my placement could use some work! I thought it would be nice to share with you all some of my makeup fails to show none of us are perfect!

So expect more posts like this. When I have some makeup failures instead of deleting them I will share what I think I could have done to improve them!

The top photo really doesnt look to bad. But when you get a closer look you see the colors all mixed up and it just looked a bit sloppy honestly. I also think my skin looks a bit washed out, overall I just was not 100% pleased!

Have you had any makeup fails? Please share!!
